53 years after the Sellersburg Methodist Episcopal Church, as it was known then, was formed, they decided to build a new church and sanctuary. The grand design cost $35,000 and included the sanctuary and a fellowship hall in the basement. Construction was started in June of 1924 and completed in spring of 1925. The first worship service in the new building was held on May 17, 1925. On May 18, 2025 we will celebrate the 100th anniversary with our Sanctuary Centennial Celebration. Over the four weeks leading up to our celebration we will look back at our past and then forward into the future. The 4 week sermon series which begins April 27th, is entitled “Foundations of the Future.”
