Pastor David

  Rev. David Neuen, Senior Pastor

Pastor David and family were excited to begin serving at Sellersburg UMC in July 2012. Previously, Pastor David  served congregations in Muncie and Warsaw, IN. David’s major responsibilities include preaching, vision, and supervising staff. He has a passion for moving people to become more committed followers, learners and servants of Jesus Christ. Pastor David enjoys running, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. His wife, Cindy serves as a nurse at Clark Memorial Hospital, Addison is busily engaged in elementary school and Cub Scouts, and Anna is finding her words and providing beautiful smiles.

Jamie Waltz, Communications Director & Secretary     

Jamie loves being apart of SUMC!  She is excited to be apart of the Church leadership team and work alongside its members.  Jamie is married to Craig; they have 5 children, 2 daughters and 3 sons.  Jamie has 16+ years in administrative support which helped her transition into her role with SUMC.  She loves to garden and plans to have her family farm up and running soon with dairy goats, honey bees and chickens! Her passion is to show others how to become better stewards of God’s wonderful gifts; one being this BEAUTIFUL world in which we live!

Dan-staffDan Graf, Praise Team Worship Leader

Dan brings his talented music and singing ability to the church. He is a member of the Living Water Trio Gospel singing group along with his wife, Angie and long-time friend, Tony Goforth. He conducts the Chancel Choir, leads church Worship and the Praise Band. His vocal skills and development of church soloists provides opportunities for all musical talents for many special occasions. Under his direction, he combines both traditional and contemporary opportunities for our congregation.

 Lori Rice, Youth Minister

Lori has been a part of SUMC for the past 13 years working in various areas with the youth ranging from teaching Sunday School to leading Children’s Church, VBS and also serving as Assistant Youth Minister for the last 5 years. Beginning in 2013 she began serving as Youth Minister for youth in grades 6 through 12. She has also been active with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for the last 13 years. Lori has a passion for working with Youth and sharing the Word of God with them. Lori is married and has two teenage boys. She enjoys reading, spending time with her kids and golf in her spare time

Brenda Croucher is married to John for 21 years. They have a daughter Polly, she will be a junior at Silver Creek High School. Brenda has been teaching Sunday School, Children's Church and VBS for 20 years at Community Church prior to coming to SUMC.  She has been a unit leader for American Heritage Girls for 4 years and Vice President of the Silver Creek Theatre Producers. Brenda is excited to be working with the wonderful staff and children.



Kathy Waterman, Visitation Minister

Kathy is married and has three grown children and three grandchildren. She has been Visitation Minister since 2001. She is responsible for visitation of members in the hospital, shut-ins, those ill at home, and other special visitation needs. Kathy's group of volunteers has grown substantially in the last year. She continually seeks ways to help others in need through the Salvation Army Angel Tree and knitting baby blankets for moms in need.

Janice Jones, Director of Everday Outreach

Janice is a Puritanical Christian in nature with the only desire to witness for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  She seeks to do so by giving her best in time, energy, and financial support to her family, those around her, her church branch, and to all that the Lord has given her to know about or to know personally.

Prayer Ministry Coordinator

Marilyn has been a member of SUMC for over 25 years and has worked in missions and prayer ministry for many of those years.  She is glad to pray with someone in need of prayer, and she tries to call the church to prayer, including 6:30-7:30 the first Monday each month.  Another part of the prayer ministry is the prayer chain, which Betty Haas faithfully maintains.  Prayer classes are periodically offered.  Marilyn believes "Much prayer, much power.  Little prayer, little power. No prayer, no power."  She is married to George and is retired, which leaves them with time for reading and travel.

Flora Childers, returning as SUMW President, mother of three, grandmother of five, have served on various church and UMW committees in the local church, district, conference and jurisdiction; and as mission staff person in the former SIC.


janet 2 copy      Janet Werle, Director of Mentoring Minstries

Since accepting the Director of Mentoring ministries position, Janet has encouraged members of the congregation to explore ways they can fit into the ministries of shepherding/mentoring, planning small group studies, leadership development/training and new member assimilation opportunities. She is a member of the Chancel Choir and has taught the Pilgrim Sunday Morning Bible Class for many years.  She is also the South District Lay Leader and a member of 2 Indiana Conference committees. Janet also convenes the River Ridge Cluster of nine churches located in eastern Clark County. Her charitable interests include membership in Theta Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority. She enjoys flower gardening, entertaining family and friends, travel and business networking events. Her walk with her Savior began when she was a child and continues in her work with many areas of interest as Christ’s witness in word and deed. She and her husband Richard enjoy spending time with their 2 adult children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and 5 grandchildren.



Connie Nunn, Teasurer 

Connie has attended/been a member of SUMC since childhood. She graduated from Silver Creek High School and Indiana University Southeast and has served as SUMC Treasurer for 10+ years. A few years ago, Connie started the Prayer Garden at the side of the church and continues its upkeep regularly. She invites you to visit the Garden, sit a while and reflect. Many of the flowers, benches and landscaping were donated by past members with a love of nature or in memory of a loved one.  Her hobbies include card making, scrapbooking, gardening, Indiana University basketball and playing with her dog.

   Don Broady, Director of Facility Operations

Hi! I’m Don Broady married with two children. I have been a member of this church for 66 years.  Graduate from Silver Creek High School and owned my own business for 30 years. I have served on almost all of the committees of the church. At present I serve as director of Facility Operations which means that I oversee taking care of our church and other buildings at SUMC.

Darryl Moore, Custodian


I am a graduate of RETS Electronic School.  I have served 30 + years as an  Electronic Technician.  I  semi- retired in 2013.  I  currently work Part time for:  Independent Contractor for Wilson Education Center Delivery, Repair and Billing.  I have been a Boy Scout Leader for 15 Years.  My hobbies include: Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, Fishing, White Water Rafting, Bike Riding, Rappelling.
