Small Groups

Committing ourselves to continual learning is an important way To Grow as a disciple.

Small groups and short term classes develop faith practices that ready us to hear God's voice and sustain us through difficult times.  Through these learning communities, we discover how to enrich our prayer life, how to read the Bible for personal reflection,

how to give and serve abundantly, and how to tell our faith story of God's change in our lives.

Plus, we were never meant to walk the discipleship path alone.

God created us for community and it is in the midst of community that our spiritual growth will increase exponentially.

Relationships Matter at SUMC.  Get involved in a small group today!

The Tuesday Night Bible study is held every Tuesday at 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM.

Our group consist usually of around 8-10 people.  We pick a book from the Bible and study it until completion.  We invite anyone who wishes to study God's word and have an hour of fellowship too.

The Womens Bible Study meets each Tuesday morning at 10:00am for approximately one hour in the church lower level.  We are currently using the Upper Room daily devotional and the small group guidance questions for discussion.  Bring your favorite Bible and a copy of the Upper Room (available in church narthex), and join us in this covenant community as we share our joys and concerns and the stories that encourage our spiritual journey together.  Come and see!

Home Groups

SUMC's home-based small groups are a great way to grow in faith and develop new friendships.  We have 4 active groups that enjoy Bible study, food and fellowship.  We are looking forward to increasing our ministry, so everyone within our church may benefit from the love, accountability, and compassion that we achieve together.

Short Term and Seasonal Studies

Throughout the year, Pastor David offers a variety of short term studies on a variety of topics from spiritual disciplines, theology, missions, outreach and more.  For the spring of 2018, Pastor David is offering a course on  the Apostle's Creed.  This small group meets on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 PM at the church.
