YOUTH MINISTRY

Welcome to the Youth Ministry of Sellersburg UMC. We're glad you decided to visit.

We serve students in 6th-12th grade and their families.   Our mission is to relate the Bible and the Christian walk to everyday life.

It's right there in the name of our High School group - Teen F.U.E.L., which means Faith Used in Everday life.

We call our 6th – 8th grade group JUMP which stands for Junior United Methodist People.

Students are uplifted and equipped through incredible study and fellowship together.  We gather every Wednesday evening at 6:00pm for dinner, small groups, Biblical teaching and awesome student interaction.

Christian Camp

Some of my greatest memories from my teen years are from Church camp.  Church camp can be an amazing experience.  It is a great opportunity to build lifetime healthy Christian friendships.  Kids get a chance to fill their minds and hearts with God’s word, spending hours every day studying God’s word, hearing Bible lessons and singing praises to God.  All of this is done in the middle of the woods, enjoying God’s beautiful creation and with no technology allowed.  Lives are changed, hearts are healed and God’s love and grace are abundant!

Christian Concerts

Our youth group attends Winter Jam in the winter and Rock on Water in the fall. Both are a great place to see popular Christian bands with the common theme among them being Christian values.  Winter Jam is an indoor concert with different genres of bands from across the country and Rock on Water is an outdoor event and both are open to anyone, and the hope of the organizers is for people to feel welcome and loved, inviting those who may not attend church services to hear a Christian message in a casual, energetic setting.

Faith-based Movies

Faith based movies have been growing steadily in the last few years.  Since 2013 there have been 76 Christian-leaning films have hit theaters.  Not all movies about faith come straight out of the pages of the Bible -- but they do share a foundation in positive messages and traditional values. From inspiring sports dramas to family-friendly stories. This is a great opportunity to fellowship and enjoy a lesson.
